Position Description

The Environmental Services (EVS) clean the medical center -- patient rooms, resident rooms and work areas. These work areas include the laboratory, radiology, emergency room, clinic, health center, central supply, surgery, linen closets, storage areas, apartment(s) and lounge areas. The EVS maintains a check off chart of work performed. All EVS employees will be CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) certified within six months of hire.

Job Overview:
o Dusts and mopping of all hallways upstairs pervious to being scrubbed and buffed.
o Cleans and restocks bathrooms.
o Dusts and wet mops assigned areas daily.
o Dusts bed frames and furniture.
o Cleans windows and windowsills, vents and radiators.
o Changes curtains as needed. Changes mop heads daily.
o Changes flat mop heads with every room; changes dusts mop heads daily; and, treats dust mop heads daily.
o Damp dusts around sprinkler heads.
o Fills in and does laundry when needed. All EVS personnel need a minimum of 40 hours training with the regular laundry person.
o Performs other duties as assigned by the EVS Lead.

High school diploma, previous EVS experience preferred. Self starter, honest, communication skills and a willingness to work. This is a physical job. The individual must be able to lift, bend, stoop and clean. Current CHEST certification preferred or will obtain within six months of hire.
